Color Filters
Applying color filters to your cover images can significantly enhance their visual appeal by adding depth, mood, and emphasis. Filters can unify disparate elements, create a specific atmosphere, or highlight key areas of your design.
How to apply filters
- Accessing Filters:
- Navigate to theFilter tab.
- Browse through the selection of premade filters and click on any to apply it to your cover.
- Creating or Modifying Filters:
- To craft a new filter, select Add Custom Filter.
- To adjust an existing filter, click theicon associated with the desired filter.
Preserving original cover colors
By default, applying a filter may alter the background colors of your cover to harmonize with the filter's palette. If you prefer to maintain your original colors, activate the Preserve Cover Colors option located at the top of theFilter tab.
Custom filters (advanced)
For those seeking a tailored look, the Image Filter Editor offers advanced customization:
Available Modes:
- Overlay: Mixes Multiply and Screen modes to boost contrast, preserving highlights and shadows.
- Normal: Displays the filter without blending; the top layer covers the bottom layer.
- Multiply: Combines the colors of the filter and image, resulting in a darker effect.
- Darken: Compares each pixel and retains the darker color.
- Lighten: Compares each pixel and retains the lighter color.
- Color: Applies the hue and saturation of the filter while preserving the image's luminosity.
Color Channel Adjustments:
Fine-tune the intensity of red, green, and blue channels to achieve the desired color balance.
How It Works:
- The editor provides three sliders each for red, green, and blue channels.
- Adjusting these sliders modifies the contribution of each color channel, allowing for precise color correction and creative effects.
While the custom filter feature offers in-depth control, experimentation is encouraged. Adjusting blend modes and color channels can lead to unique and compelling cover designs!
